Summertime
It’s been a beautiful summer at 109 Cheese and Wine.
With amazing fresh summer cheeses and beautiful whites and rosé’s to complement the perfect evening, Burrata, summer goat cheeses, fresh local tomatoes and greens, great BBQ and fish, what could be better? We truly love the Marketplace stores and the healthy choices that they help us make. Healthy, real food options are so important to our wellbeing and we are lucky to have the ability to make great, local choices at our doorstep.
Did you ever wonder what we do when we are not living on 109 time? Well, for us, Monday’s and sometimes Tuesday’s become our weekend and it truly offers a unique perspective into the normal weekend off routine. In this new world of constant media and instant gratification a change of work week is actually a welcomed addition to our schedule. That’s not to say that we don’t talk about or even do any work related chores on theses coveted days. Most of the ordering, some of the bookkeeping and endless details that keep 109, well, 109 happen during these two days. One of our favorite summertime chores is research. Going out on Candlewood Lake and making sure that you can enjoy the perfect bottle of Champagne with a perfect cheese and a perfect sunset is a tough job, but…. We love sharing our passion with all of you and hope you will continue to follow and share your own foodie experiences with us.
Our goal is to create a perfect cheese and wine environment for the foodie! With the addition of our new classroom, we can further the process through education and fun. Our plans include bringing in cheese and winemakers to talk about their passions and products, explain food-centric movies, teach the younger generation about cheese (it’s amazing how many kids don’t hold their noses when they come in the store), and continually bring new and exciting products to Ridgefield.
Enjoy these amazing days of summer as Fall will be here before we know it. Then…. well, he’s started checking his list already so better be nice.
