Check out some of our favorite “Heading into the Holiday” wines

Domaine D’Arbousset 2016 is a grenache, mourvedre, syrah and cinsault from the Lirac appellation elevation in the southern Rhone. This medium to full bodied wine is showing nice fruit with gentle tannins on the finish. With a hint of oak, this wine will be perfect with the heartier meals of the season.

Chateau Laujac Medoc 2016 is from a wonderful family owned vineyard. This blend, mostly cabernet and some merlot, is showing dark berries, a hint of vanilla, cedar and finishes with a little tobacco. The perfect balance of tannin and acidity for the holiday roast or spatchcock chicken or sitting by the fire with your favorite 109 cheese ( Otis likes the Sneek Aged Gouda).

Dumont Bourgogne Rouge 2019 is just wonderful! From the famous Gevery-Chambertin region in Burgundy. To the nose, strawberry, raspberry and cherry are ever present with a hint of cranberry. To the palate you will find wonderful acidity, a hint of old oak and a delicate finish of soft tannins. We will be enjoying this bundled up by the fire pit and a hunk of our new alpine cheese from Bavaria Baldauf 1862 Meisterstuck.

Domaine Camu Fréres Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018 is from a small medieval town in Burgundy. 100% chardonnay has a beautiful translucent gold expression of color in the glass. To the nose you will notice citrus and wonderful green apple notes. This chardonnay is medium bodied showing delicate vanilla and some oak. As with many chardonnays, the finish is bountiful and loves cheese, charcuterie and just about everything in between.
Silvano Bolmida 2018 Conca Del Grillo Barbera D’Alba is one of our favorites from Piedmont. This Barbera shines with sweet earth and cherries on the nose while to your palate it shows cedar leather, ripe cherries and a hint of a chocolate finish. The wine finishes in a way that will make you smile with a long and lush euphoric moment in time. Get out the pasta or red meat and enjoy! A nice hunk of Parmigiano is my cheese go to for this wine.
